That afternoon we went to the hotel's hamam. It was the first time I had been to a Turkish bath. The sauna was mixed – men and women – which surprised me. I received my massage, almost naked, with two or three other women in the room

At the end of March I traveled to Kemer in Antalya province for my friends' wedding.

It was the second wedding I have attended in Turkey this year, and both were unforgettable experiences.

Kemer is a small town between the Taurus Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. It has a long history and was known to the ancient Lycians as “Idryos.”

I flew to Antalya with two Turkish friends. From Antalya, we took a minibus along the coast to Kemer.

The roads in and out of Kemer were built in the 1960s. Before that, the only way to get there was by boat.
