Re: Wedding Fayres 2008
There is a Wedding Fair on 17-19 February at Izmir Fuar. Should be quite interesting. We'll definitely be there to have a look.
Re: Wedding Fayres 2008
I am almost sure that the Izmir Fuar show is for trade only, it is run by the same people that run the British Bridal exhibition, its the biggest bridal show in Europe. Buyers and exhibitors come from all over Europe and americia. I think that the Fuar show is going to be run in the same way with buyers coming from all over Turkey, Europe and China.

I have just emailed these people againtelling them that I've filled their form in 3 times but as yet haven't had a reply.
Maj, I think you're right that it's because you're coming from abroad; us `locals` living here don't count
Just remember you want 4!!! VIP tickets

Re: Wedding Fayres 2008
4 vip tickets, that would be two for myself and Elaine and two for my consultants who live in Turkey.
Alison where it says fax number in the form, I filled in my email address because I have not had a fax machine connected for years, too much spam,

Re: Wedding Fayres 2008
Well yesterday Mavi and I went to the Wedding Show in Izmir and met up with Majella and her daughter Elaine.
We were very impressed with the size of the exhibition although there wasn't really anything there that, as Wedding Planners, suited us.
Elaine had a fun time trying on some gowns that Majella was buying for her new bridal shop in Derry and the girls clocked up quite a few extra kilos over the baggage allowance. They also bought some beautiful headdresses, arm bangles, tiara's and veils, so all in all, a very worthwhile trip for them.
I've added a few photos to the Gallery.

Re: Wedding Fayres 2008
I hope Elaine or Majella managed to get snaps of the male attire... the *suits* were really gorgeous,
the detail stunning....
If not maybe they will scan them from the brochure...
Elaine was given a lovely set of cuff links as a gift from one of the kind men...

Re: Wedding Fayres 2008
Oooh, it sounds like a very successful trip for Maj and Elaine then. So, Ally and Mavi, do you think you will do the other bridal fairs that are coming up?

Re: Wedding Fayres 2008
Mary have you changed your name??
it was nice to go and see the fair, but I dont know if there is much point for us trekking around... we thought maybe there would be more goodies that we could use here in Turkey but it was really just dresses and suits... more catering for retail outlets...
you never know, we might just make a trip or two for a wee break

Nice pictures. I thought there would have been a lot more pushing and shoving. Fairs can be maddening.
Great Majella! I´m sure they´ll be a smash with your customers!

Re: Wedding Fayres 2008
Great piccies. Wow that Bridal 'Meringue' looks too good to wear... it looks like icing! lol
It all looks very 'calm' for a Fair. Any of the fairs I have been to through work in the past, were just manic.
No, Mavi, I haven't changed my name. Tried to change my avatar though but couldn't manage it. I think its just that my connection is sooo slow. I hear people complaining about the internet speeds in Turkey but nothing can compare to our lack of speed here, its just chronic. Ooops sorry, completely off topic...
