Eye candy - aka Eyelash Extensions
Eyelash Extensions...
Long eyelashes are as intrinsic to beauty as bone structure and flawless skin. Now, fantastically long eyelashes can be a reality for all of us. Eyelash extensions offer longer, thicker, lusher lashes. They are meticulously placed single lashes that are attached to the real lashes, not the skin.
Each treatment attaches between 30 to 100 artificial lashes per eye - each one adhering to an existing lash using a special glue. You can choose what length you want; from 6mm to 14mm. There is also a choice of colours, including brown, blonde, auburn, purple, blue and green. Lasting between one to three hours - as each lash takes about a minute to attach - you have to keep your eyes firmly shut the entire time.
The benefits of the treatment are claimed to be huge – the eyelashes are natural looking, no more mascara or eye-make up remover is necessary and no major after-care is required. The lashes shed naturally when the real lashes to which they are attached fall out as part of the natural shedding cycle.
Eyelash Extensions are a phenomenon that began in south Asia and has finally made its way here via Hollywood. The procedure costs upward of Ł75 and takes about an hour and a half.

When everyone’s favorite material girl Madonna – famous for her ever-changing style – wanted to revamp her look five years ago, she turned Shu Uemura Artistic Director Gina Brooke. Since then, Brooke has accompanied Madonna on two worldwide concert tours. Last year, for the singer’s "Confessions" tour, Brooke commissioned the creation of diamond mink eye lashes.
But you don’t have to be Madonna to talk beauty with Brooke. She’s slated to make an appearance (from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) Saturday at the Shu Uemura counter in Neiman Marcus at Fashion Island. She’ll introduce the latest in Shu Uemura’s line of false lashes and, among other beauty subject-matter, discuss the benefits of proper skincare.

Re: Eye candy - aka Eyelash Extensions
Well Mavi did a few eyelashes for me last week, just 6 at the corner of each eye and they definitely made a difference. I have fair, short lashes and need to wear mascara if I'm venturing over the door so these are a great idea. I had to keep remembering not to rub my eyes, as they do come out along with the natural lashes. I think they stayed in for about 4 days.
